Obituary of Karen Rauch

Karen M. Rauch Mrs. Rauch, 44, of Charlotte, NC died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at her residence. She was born September 22, 1964, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, daughter of the late Tom McElhatttan and Linda Jordan of Denver, NC. Karen was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was an advocate for animal rights and was very active in volunteer work. Having just moved back from London, England where she served as the volunteer coordinator of the soup kitchen for the American Church of London and was also on the board of directors for Door Step a charitable organization for homeless families. Prior to that Mrs. Rauch was the Director of Development for the Rape Crisis Center in Decatur, GA. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, David Rauch; daughters, Kendall and Natalie Rauch all of Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon August 22, 2009, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to The American Diabetes Association, 222 S. Church St. Suite 336M, Charlotte NC 28202.
