I was very sorry to hear about Karen passing away. She did a wonderful job keeping us all organised and seamlessly 'there' for the soup kitchen and its clients. I'm sure she will be missed greatly by her family and close friends.
My thoughts are with you all at this sad but she will always be remembered for her relentless, passionate caring for those in need.

I'm sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I knew her through the amazing work she did at the Soup Kitchen in London where i volunteered for a number of years. She always used to say that my emails made her smile. Perhaps because they were usually written rather cheekily and with a sense of forthrightness that others perhaps don't use in emails. I don't know. But it was always good to know that i at least made one person smile.
Karen, on the other hand, made hundreds of people smile. You may never meet all the people whose lives she touched, many of whom may not even realise that she is gone. So on beahlf of all the volunteers and clients of the Soup Kitchen i'd just like you to know that we will miss her.
My thoughts are with you.
Tom

Dear Kendall, Natalie and Mr. Rauch,
I am thinking of you every day. Your mom will not be forgotten -- she was so kind and such a pleasure to work with. She loved her family and her daughters so much. Kendall, I saw first hand last year what a wonderful, caring young lady you are and more than once your mom would stop to talk to me about how proud she was of you.
She is missed and your family is in our prayers.

Karen served the Soup Kitchen at the American Church in London for 6 years before returning to the US in June. She was an amazing Volunteers? Co-ordinator who played a pivotal role in the vision of the Soup Kitchen, and every aspect of its implementation ? whether by sheer hard-work, wise advice, strong encouragement or her refusal to be cowed by setbacks that would have floored lesser men or women! As Director, I will especially miss her expert guidance, the Board will miss her feisty can-do attitude, the volunteers her firm but kind exhortation to get stuck in, and the guests her respect and very practical concern for their well-being.
It goes without saying that Karen will be greatly missed. We entrust her into the hands of Jesus.

Kendall, Natalie, and Mr. Rauch, I am so deeply sorry to hear about your loss. When Kendall was in my homeroom at ASL, Karen was my room mom. I am so happy that I was able to get to know her as a parent and a person. I always enjoyed time spent with the all of you and was honored to watch Kendall grow into a lovely young woman ? so much like her lovely mother. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Karen was someone that I looked up to as a mother, wife, and woman in general. She spoke of her daughters with such respect, you can tell they have been raised well. She was also very actively involved in charity work, she inspired me to get active and provided opportunities to do so. Karen will be missed. My prayers go out to Dave and the girls.

Karen?s contribution to Doorstep was profound; she gave her time, skills, knowledge and experience abundantly. Karen was involved in everything, from profile raising, policy development, fundraising and was equally happy to roll up her sleeves and help with cleaning or gardening, nothing was ever too much trouble. A full account of Karen?s story with Doorstep will appear in our Annual Report, as a tribute to her truly remarkable achievements for our charity. Her loss is incomprehensible, but her legacy lives on in the positive difference she made to so many lives. In response to hearing this shocking news, members of our organization have described Karen as vital, vibrant, warm, kind hearted and a beautiful human being. She was certainly all of those things and much more. It was clear to anyone who knew her that she adored her family. We share your sorrow and send our deepest love to Dave, Kendall, Natalie and all the members of her beloved family.
