I will miss the good doctor. He has been my oncologist since 2003. A good doctor and a good guy; he always tolerated my jokes. I have greatly appreciated his kindness and care.

To the Family of Thomas W. Hauch: It was with deep sadness that I learned that Dr. Hauch had recently passed away. For many years I have been a patient of Dr. Hauch, and, in fact, was referred to him by my then Ob/Gyn doctor, Dr. Donald Horner. As I look back, I believe that Dr. Hauch has been my primary physician for more than twenty-six years. In all those years he treated me with utmost concern and attention, and I feel a deep loss at the death of this superbly competent, caring and engaging physician. My own field of study was Germanics and Dr. Hauch was alway pleased to talk about his own experience and interest in that field, and in Europe in general. We shared some common background also, in that, both of us had completed our doctoral work at Northwestern University during the approximate same period of time. I, and my husband, Frank, would like to express our sincere condolences to you, his family. May you be comforted in knowing that you have been such an important part of this unique man's life. with deep regard, Carolyn Krause Bolt

I will truly miss Dr. Hauch, he was a wonderful person and caring physician. In all the thirty something years I knew him he was alway very positive and up beat. The one thing I will remember about Dr Hauch is the stories he use to share about his flying. To the family my prayers are with you and may the God of all comfort give you peace.

As a Cardiologist,I had to consult Tom infrequently. But when needed, he was very professional, loved by my patients, and extremely helpful and caring in their management. His joyous smile and upbeat attitude lifted all who worked with him. He personified what we all strove to be as physicians.

Dr. Hauch was so precious to my sister, Martha Pfund. I often accompanied her and he was so good to her throughout her 3 year battle with lung cancer. I last saw him in Presbyterian Hospital when she was not expected to live. We had no idea at that time that he, too, was not well. You and your entire family will be in our prayers as I am sure you will miss such a dear man. Deepest sympathy,Bleeker S. CannonPawleys Island, SC

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and associates of their beloved Dr. Hauch. As his patient, I always received consistently excellent care and advice, not only for cancer but general health issues as well. By referring me to other physicians when he deemed it advisable, Dr. Hauch demonstrated that he truly cared about the overall well-being of his patients. He will be greatly missed. May God rest him and bless and comfort his family.Sincerely,Patricia M. Brown

Karon, Kathryn, Kimberly, Jamie, & Michael-On behalf of the Cantor & Alpern family, we are deeply sorry for your loss. Tom was a very kind and intelligent person who will be greatly missed.I just wanted to share a happy memory of him with you: we have a video of Kathryn and me skating when we were about 7 years old (me in a clown costume and Kathryn in a tin man costume), but the main focus of the video not the skating- it's our dads arguing over who had to spend more on costumes! Our families have shared a lot of great memories together and we look forward to many more. We are here for you in your time of need.-Dave, Janice, Jeremy, & Aviva

Dr. Hauch was a trusted physician to my parents, Doris and Marshall Lemmond. They often spoke to me of the special bond they felt toward him due to his caring attention to their needs and the support he provided through their many treatments. Our family was surprised to learn of his illness and saddended by his too early death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, co-workers, patients and friends of Dr. Hauch. You are greatly missed.Bob Lemmond Houston, Texas
