Obituary of Steve Papageorge

Steve P. Papageorge Mr. Papageorge, 51, of Charlotte died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at his residence. Steve was born in Warrenton, NC, June 16, 1958 son of the late Pete Papageorge and Maria Nixon Papageorge of Charlotte, NC. Steve was a graduate of UNCC and was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and tattoos. But above all else he loved spending time with his children. Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Jonathan Papageorge; daughter, Maria Papageorge; son, Panou Papageorge; sister, Effie Ziozios and husband, Danny all of Charlotte and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Mr. Papageorge. Funeral service for Mr. Papageorge will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Father Michael Varvarelis and Father Efstathios Varvarelis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Trisagion will be held 7:00 PM Friday evening, January 1, 2010 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
