Obituary of Alexander Oak George

Alexander Harris Oak George ?Alex? Alexander, 25, passed tragically, on Monday, April 19, 2010, after being assaulted over the weekend. He was born June 4th, 1984 in Charlotte. Alexander was following in the family tree care business, Heartwood Tree Service after a stint of running his own show. He was scheduled for a test to become a Certified Arborist in June. He loved the excitement of life and lived with passion. His life was a celebration after defeating addiction and taking charge of his own life last year. This made his passing all the more cruel. In his short happy life of the last six months, he found the love of his life, Chelsea Carswell and they were making plans for their future. He is deeply mourned. Alexander is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Harris; his father, Patrick George and stepmother Noreen, and sister, Julia. He is also survived by his grandparents, William L. and Janie Harris, and Mitzi George of Charlotte; aunts and uncles, Tommy and Debbie George, Michael and Cathy George, Greg Harris, Billie and Olin Wade. He was also blessed with loving cousins on both sides of his family. His funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Charlotte Public Tree Fund, Inc.
