We met your precious Alex when he removed a tree and several limbs for us. When he climbed the large oak tree, I remember him smiling when I told him to be careful. I soon realized he knew exactly what he was doing. He was a very talented, handsome and fine young man. I know you're proud of him. Our youngest son died so we understand your pain, sorrow and longing for your son. We will be praying for you, your family and Alex's friends. We are so sorry.Brenda and Glenn Harrelson

I was so saddened to read about your tremendous loss and I'll be holding you close in my heart and prayers. Alex removed some limbs for us last fall and we thought so much of him. My children and I were fascinated how he climbed and swung from our large trees like a monkey. He suggested putting in a tree swing. Please know that his legacy lives on and we will think of him each time the kids and adults in our neighborhood enjoy a swing. We send our deepest sympathy.

Noreen and Patrick, Our sympathy is with you. I know how difficult this must be for so many people. While we didn't know Alex I'm sure he was a funloving guy based on the impact you both must have had on him! May God Bless you and your family - if you need anything at all please don't hesitate to call on us.

To Alex's family,I've worked at First Step for the past 3 years and have seen many patients come through treatment. I have to say, in all honesty, that Alex was very special to me. Very few patients have touched my heart and my life,in my own recovery, as Alex did. I can't explain why, but I often prayed for him, that he was sober/clean and had found peace in his heart and life. He was heading to Colorado last I heard and was so excited to experience life sober. I'm very sorry for your loss. I thank God that I was able to meet Alex in my life. May his memories and smile be with you always and may Alex be at peace with God in heaven. Sincerely, Marisa Dwyer

Hello dear family-My heart aches for the loss of your son and brother. I remember my visit to NC back in the summer of '91 and getting to hang out with Alex! Jammin in the Waynes World garage at Carowinds! The George family made me feel so welcome on my first trip out of state sans mommy. I will always cherish those memories we made! Such a blast! I know I will see my cousin again where there will be no more tears and no more suffering. I love you all and please know that you are in our thoughts, as always. I am lifting prayers up to our Lord for peace and comfort for you all. Goodbye for now, Alex.

Dear Patrick, I cannot even begin to feel the loss of a child,it certainly is a tragedy no parent wants to endure, but you are. You gave your son the will to live and fight for his life and you were successful at doing just that. I commend you for the courage it took to stand by Alexander and the courage it took for him to keep trying. God has blessed you both. Noreen, you gave a mothers love to Alexander, some step parents find that quite hard to do, but you did not. You loved Alexander like a son and gave so much unselfishly to him. I know he was grateful for your kindness. Sweet Julia, you have lost your only sibling. The love you have for your brother was one of the strengths he fed from to come to the point in his life that he was ready to grow in a healthy way. You were a shining example for him. He will always live in your memory as your big brother. God Bless all the George family, for you have truly lost a good soul. Our love, prayers are withyou all.Uncle Wally & Aunt Maggie
