Obituary of Carrol Bumgardner

Carrol ?Bud? Bumgardner, Jr. Carrol ?Bud? Bumgardner, Jr. age 68 of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Charlotte, NC died on September 24, 2011. He was the son of the late Carrol W. Bumgardner and Clara Blount Bumgardner. Bud was an employee of AT&T for 15 years. He was also an employee of Eastern Airlines for over 25 years. Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, where he served overseas in Germany. The center of his universe was his family, especially his two girls and his granddogs. Bud enjoyed traveling with his family, especially with his daughters and on his own after his wife?s death. He was also an avid animal lover. Bud is survived by his two daughters, Melinda C. Bumgardner of Mt. Holly, N.C. and Amanda B. Johnson and her husband, Matthew P. Johnson of Indian Land, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Smith Bumgardner. A celebration of Bud?s life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC.
