Tom,
My sincere sympathies go out to you and your family. I was on my way to the visitation last night when I had a joyous interruption from my dughter-in law... she went into labor last night and had a little boy in Rock Hill SC. At any rate, I had intended to be there. Again, my sincere condolences to you and your family.

We met George in Charlotte, and were immediately touched by his warm smile and gentle spirit. He was truly a wonderful person who endured so much, so now we pray for strength and comfort for his family. He is surely with our Lord in heaven.

I had not seen George in awhile and did not know he had been dealt another blow. Who would know? George was always smiling and full of life and interested in how you were doing. His picture is how I will always remember him - one of the good guys!

George was a true friend in every sense of the word. We had many memorable times starting and leading CBAG. I will definitely miss his energy as well as his positive attitude. He was a role model for others relative to dealing life's difficult and dark moments. Peace be with you.

The strongest, bravest guy I have ever known. I will miss your laugh and your optimism, and late night calls. "It's hard to rally around an English class." Bear Bryant but quoted eternally by George. Rest my dear friend.
