Pat - I am so sorry for your loss. I'm the Judy who lived down the hall at ACC and roomed with Dianne Greene. I still remember your story about the "family" weddings your Dad performed: Ken played the organ, and you cried. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Judy

Kenneth was a classmate of mine at Norlina High School. My recollection was that Kenneth and his family moved to the area in the late fifties. His father was called to serve as pastor at a Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. I also recall he had some health problems even at that early age. What I most remember about Kenneth was that he was always positive and upbeat about everything! He was interested in the topics covered in our classes and he was interested in extracurricular activities. He had great manners and all the teachers like him. His classmates liked him because he exuded a warmth they would gravitate to. He was witty and had a sarcastic side I liked about him.
The last time I saw him was about 1964. I attended N.C. Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount and one day my roommate and I decided to drive to Wilson. We drove over to Atlantic Christian College and looked up Kenneth and Al Fleming, who I think was Kenneth?s roommate. We chatted briefly about our high school years and compared our college experiences thus far. Kenneth was the same Kenneth I remembered from Norlina High, positive, funny, and a person everyone could be comfortable with.
We are all sad at this time over his passing, but we all agree this world today is better because Kenneth Franke touched many lives over the years and so many people, me included, have such fond memories of him.
Peace be with you, Charles White

We are so sorry to hear about Kenneth's death. The class of 1962 will surely miss having Kenneth at our reunion this year. We were really looking forward to seeing everyone. He was a good classmate.
