Obituary of Agnes Browning

Agnes Hines Browning Mrs. Browning, 72, of Charlotte, NC, died on December 2, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy. She was born on May 25, 1940, in Durham, NC, daughter of late John C. Hines and Mary Agnes Crabtree Hines. Mrs. Browning loved her family, friends and community. She was an active member ofThe Charity League since 1988 and served on the Board of Directors. She also organized and ran many charity fund raising events. Mrs. Browning loved her trips and family outings at the beach. She also treasured her girl?s weekends and being involved with many volunteer activities at Providence Day School. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Stephen (Steve) Browning; sons, John Alexander Browning and his wife, Nicole Marie and Michael Andrew Browning and his wife, Kristin; grandchildren, Stephen Colin Browning, Jennings Aidan Browning, Miller Jordan Browning and Miles Andrew Browning; her step-father, William Grice; sisters, Theresa Rigsbee, Dianne Davis and Sharon Allen; and brothers, William Grice, Jr. and Wesley Grice. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Church at Charlotte, 2500 Carmel Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening December 5, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
