I am deeply sorry for your loss. May family and friends draw comfort and love from each other during this time.
May you gain hope from the promise provided by our Heavenly Father:
(Revelation 21:3, 4) With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

I was shocked and saddened to read of the loss of Dr. Allgood in the St. Louis Post Dispatch this morning. Sara Elizabeth and I worked together at St. Louis University Hospital in the early 1980's; she was an Emergency Department physician and I was a new helicopter flight nurse. She taught me so many life lessons, not just medical skills but patient care as well. She was a passionate, kind and generous physician and a terrific leader. I am sure she has touched thousands of lives throughout her career. my heartfelt condolences to her family - what a loss!

Ms. Allgood was one of the greatest people I had the pleasure to know and talk with. She was a great all around person and always made you feel special and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I have been blessed to become good friends with her two sons and you can tell she has instilled some of her wisdom and ways in them. She was truly the greatest role model for anyone to model themselves after and will be greatly missed. My prayers are with all her family.

I have such fond memories of Sara Elizabeth at Chapman High School. She was such a gracious, talented and intelligent lady. My deepest sympathies to the family. Unfortunately, I do not know any of the remaining family except for Loucinda whom I have thought of so many times and have many fond memories of our fun times in the "Advanced" 8th grade class. Would love to hear from you, Loucinda!

I had not seen Sara Elizabeth since high school. I remember her, perhaps more than any other person, as being someone that you just knew, with absolute certainty, would do great things. Obviously, she did. From reading the tributes of others, I see that, more importantly, she was a great person. To her family, especially Loucinda Ruth, I am so sorry for your loss.

It only seems like a few months or maybe a year ago that Sara Elizabeth, Virginia, several other girls including myself were on the basketball court at Chapman High School. Or maybe we were hanging out in the lobby in the morning waiting for first class bell to ring. High school years were great! We rode the same bus to school even though their ride was a lot shorter than the rest of us. Most of us were going to Holly Springs and a lot of us are still here. We managed to make time while on the bus to talk about the latest topic usually basketball or boys. Sara Elizabeth was a good friend many years ago. I would like to think if we had ever seen each other after high school we could have picked up from our last conversation as if only days had past and not 48 years! May God be with each of you. I wish I could be there for the celebration of the life of a beautiful and caring friend and to share my memories with you.

Sara is one of the most special people that I have ever known. Originally, we met through scuba diving, but as the years passed she became such an important part of our lives. She was facinated by the smallest things. She treated everyone as though they were the most important person on the planet. She was a christian woman who lived a life of service. She made every moment a treasure. She was a dear friend. And, I will love and remember her always.

I wish I had the opportunity to tell Dr. Allgood how much of a role model she was to me. Always kind, always dignified, she was always one of the first in the room to offer up an encouraging, supportive word in the workplace. I admired her passion for her family, healing others and her great sense of adventure, too (so impressed by her scuba diving skills!). I am really saddened by the loss of this beautiful person. I am very sorry to learn of her death, and I am writing to offer my condolences. She was my second cousin. (My maternal grandmother was Bernice Allgood Martin, her grandfather's youngest sister.) I remember meeting her twice - once when I was a teenager and her grandmother died, and once at a dinner for doctors and lawyers in Charlotte, perhaps 20 years ago. We quickly realized how we were related, and had a very enjoyable meal together. She was bright and talented. Martin Hunter, Charlotte, NC
