Obituary of Virginia Clark

Virginia S. Clark Surrounded by her family, Virginia Clark, 81, died in the care of Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, May 16, 2009. She was born in New Castle, VA, February 2, 1928, daughter of the late Oather and Nellie Sublett. Virginia was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clark loved the outdoors, especially the mountains where she spent much of her time in the Spring and Summer. She was known for her steadfast compassion, gift of caring for friends in need, and unyielding love for her family. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L. Clark and her brother, Fred H. Sublett. Survivors include her sons, Steven D. Clark and wife Lisa, Michael D. Clark and wife Jamie, and daughter, Susan V. Clark all of Charlotte. Also surviving Mrs. Clark is her granddaughter, Anna Clark who affectionately called her ?Row-Row? and her sister-in-law Helen Sublett of New Castle, VA. The family will receive friends and share memories at Hankins & Whittington Wednesday evening, May 20, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. A private burial service is planned.
