Obituary of Gertrude Craig

Laverne Warner Craig Mrs. Craig, 75, of Charlotte died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center, Pineville, NC. She was born July 21, 1933, in Cleveland, OH daughter of the late James A. and Gertrude St. John Warner. Mrs. Craig was a member of Moore?s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a devoted homemaker. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Laverne enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Her favorite author was James Patterson. In addition to her parents Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her son, V. Glenn Craig. Surviving are her husband, Vester L. Craig, Sr.; daughters, Priscilla Craig of Mt. Holly, NC, Patricia Bennett and her husband, Allen of Stanley, NC and Pamela Craig of Smyrna, GA; son, Vester L. Craig, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Charlotte, NC; brother, James A Warner, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Patrick Craig and wife, Stacy of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Bennett of Clover, SC, Nicole Vickers and her husband, Brent and Dustin Williams all of Huntersville, NC and three great granddaughters. Funeral service for Mrs. Craig will be held Friday evening, June 26 at 8:00 PM in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service.
