Obituary of Clyde Marrow

Clyde Derry Marrow Mr. Marrow, 83, of Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Monroe, NC. He was born in Shelby, NC December 29, 1925 son of the late Jack Derry and Sarah Ford Marrow. Mr. Marrow was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II and served in the Pacific theatre. He was one of the owners of Marrows Picking & Opening a textile machinery operation. Clyde was a great builder and could fix anything. An avid outdoorsman Mr. Marrow enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents Mr. Marrow was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Hipp Marrow and brothers, James Kenneth Marrows and Jack Roger Marrow. Survivors include his son, Clyde ?Steve? Marrow and wife, Cathy of Waxhaw, NC; daughter, Kathryn ?Katie? Macomson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Terry Sue Marrow of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Williams and husband, Jay, Sarah Roux and husband, Scott, Stephanie Fisher and husband, Jamie, Thomas Macomson and wife, Valeria, Bryan Macomson and Scott Macomson and five great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 11:30 AM in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 at Hankins & Whittington. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 222 South Church St., Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC 28202 or the charity of the donor?s choice.
