Obituary of JoAnn Prascak

JoAnn Prascak Mrs. JoAnn Prascak, 69, wife of John E. Prascak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at her home with her family by her side after a 9 year battle with cancer. JoAnn was born February 9, 1940, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Frank Caffarelli and Anne Simone Caffarelli. She attended Rosary College in Chicago and worked in retail jewelry sales for 17 years before retiring. JoAnn had a passion for knitting. It was very important to her for her children to always maintain high morals. God, her children and their lives were the most important to JoAnn. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are three daughters, Lisa Cech and Carrie Fortier and her husband Will, all of Charlotte, Nicole Marie McAuliffe and her husband Mat of Fort Mill, SC; two sons, Gregory Cech and his wife Jamie of Tomball, TX and Brett Prascak and his wife Mary of Collierville, TN; a brother, Raymond Caffarelli of Bolingbrook, IL; a sister, Camille Zaccagnini of Lake of the Hills, IL; seven grandchildren, John Martin Prascak, Ashley Prascak, Sydney Prascak, Alec Cech, Eric Cech, Colleen Fortier and Joanna Fortier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2009 at The Cathedral Church of Saint Patrick, 1621 Dilworth Road, East, Charlotte, NC, Bishop William G. Curlin, celebrant. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park, Holy Redeemer Catholic Section. Pallbearers will be Greg Cech, Brett Prascak, Mat McAuliffe, Will Fortier, John Cureton and Paul Franz. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted in JoAnn?s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 (704) 375-0100.
