Obituary of Luther Myrick

Luther Winford Myrick Mr. Myrick, 86, died peacefully Saturday, July 25, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pineville, NC February 27, 1923 son of the late David and Annie Myrick. He was a US Army of WW II and fought in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge where he won a bronze star. Luther was a retired chef and loved pets especially his dogs, Boots and Sissy. Survivors include his wife, Amy O. Myrick; daughters, Anita Lockern and Molly Smith and husband, Robert; sister, Bea Russell. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 E 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204
