Obituary of Doris Pruitt Anderson

Doris Marie Anderson Mrs. Anderson, 72, a native of Charlotte, died July 29, 2009. She was born August 6, 1936, daughter of the late Everett and Margaret Baldwin Pruitt. Mrs. Anderson was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She was also a member of the VFW Post 9488 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion. Mrs. Anderson loved playing bingo and walking in the sand at the beach. She enjoyed watching NASCAR. Mrs. Anderson adored having her children around her and eating out. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband Earl and her brother Jimmy Pruitt. She is survived by her son Donald Anderson and wife Patsy, of Charlotte, daughters Elaine Miles and husband Pete of Charlotte, Janice Hester of Kannapolis, and Kathy Lyon and husband Rick of Charlotte, Sister Brenda Lazenby and husband Jim of Concord, five grandchildren, Donnie Anderson, Johnny Miles, Zachary Hester, Kristen Lyon and Joshua Lyon and two great grandchildren Savannah Miles and Devin Robinson. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Harris Hospice. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ, 600 East 36th Street, Charlotte. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hankins and Whittington Chapel, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte.
