Obituary of Rufus Hoover

Rufus Gray Hoover DDS Dr. Hoover, 93, of Charlotte, NC, died August 31, 2009. He was born on January 5, 1916 in Mooresville, NC. Dr. Hoover was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Charlotte Burns Hoover. He is survived by a son, Herbert B. Hoover, DDS; daughter, Betty Hastings; three grandchildren, Shannon Hastings Loring, Charles Hastings and Matthew Hoover. Dr. Hoover served in the US Army from 1942 until 1946 and practiced dentistry in Charlotte for almost forty years. Graveside services are private. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 2, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family would like to thank the staff of Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care for the care and support they have given.
