Obituary of May Harton

May Mildred Hannigan Bowitz Harton Mrs. Harton, 87, of Charlotte passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, September 1, 2009. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, May 10, 1922. In 1962 May moved with her family to Charlotte, but May remained a true northerner at heart. Her first husband and father of her children, William A. Bowitz, Sr. preceded her in death in 1977 and Bill Harton her second husband also preceded her in death in 1992. They were happily married for almost twenty years. May loved gardening especially roses, animals, singing, the ocean and Native American culture. She also loved cooking and baking which brought her great peace and joy. Mrs. Harton was also preceded in death by her son William A. Bowitz, Jr. in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bowitz of Charlotte, who will love and miss her everyday. A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke United Methodist Church 2019 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC.
