Obituary of Peter Gross

Peter Allen Gross Peter, 62, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 29, 2009, surrounded by his loving wife, Ann, and children Stephanie, Peter, Daniel, and Marianne. Peter was born June 19, 1947, to William and Anna Gross of Middle Village, N.Y. Raised with his younger brother William Gross, he was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech and Pratt Institute. He served with the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. Happily married to Ann Bruder for thirty eight years, Peter raised his family in West Islip, NY and Charlotte, NC. He traveled the world as CEO of Lindemann Recycling and worked for FCR Recycling here in Charlotte, NC. Peter was an avid golfer at Piper Glen, had a great love of history and an infectious natural curiosity. Spending time in his workshop or on other various projects was one of his passions. Peter was known for his remarkable sense of humor and true friendships. He lived his life and leaves behind his values of integrity, selflessness, and great love for family and friends. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, October 1st from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hankins and Whittington. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Gross will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
