Obituary of Frieda Timberlake

Frieda Timberlake Mrs. Frieda Timberlake, 87, of Charlotte, NC died October 7, 2009 at the Golden Living Center. She was born September 30, 1922 in Waukesha, WI daughter of the late Bertha and Henry Tegge. Mrs. Timberlake was raised by her grandmother Bertha Daugs and her Aunt Lena in Manitowoc, WI. Upon graduation from Lincoln High School, she went to work for the FBI, under J. Edgar Hoover in Washington D.C., where she met her future husband, Frank Timberlake a WWII serviceman. Mrs. Timberlake was active in numerous civic, service and social organizations. She was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church, president of the WSCS (womens society of Christian Service) president of the UMW (United Methodist Women), Board of Education Commission, Board of Trustees St. Pauls UMC, County Board of Elections Precinct Judge, Girl Scouts, Jr. Charity League of Charlotte, Lakeshore Garden Club, a long time member of PEO, serving as an officer and president of Chapter CD President of the American Womens Club in Montreal, Canada. She was a licensed Real estate Agent and the creative director, buyer and manager of the Red Geranium in Pineville, NC. Mrs. Timberlake was quite a golfer and enjoyed numerous bridge clubs epically duplicate bridge with her husband. Mrs. Timberlake was an avid gardener, cook, seamstress, and interior decorator, beautifying each of the homes and gardens she lived in. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her friendship, hospitality and endless cookie jar. Mrs. Timberlake was preceded in death by her five siblings. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Francis Justice Timberlake, her three daughters, Barbara Grier and her husband Richard, Carolyn Buchach and her husband Larry, Frances Reichard and her husband James, grandchildren, Grayson Francis Grier, Alyssa Leighton Schauer, Joshua Timberlake Reichard, and Charles Justice Reichard. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Francis Chapel of Myers Park United Methodist Church, 1501 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the PEO Scholarship Fund to further the education of women in need, checks may be made to PEO-chapter AF and sent to President Mitzi Wilson, 6120 Lexham Lane, Charlotte, NC 28227 or the Alzheimer?s Association (Western Carolina Chapter) 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
