Obituary of Paraskevi Pistiolis

Paraskevi M. Pistiolis Mrs. Pistiolis, 99, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy. She was born on April 11, 1910 in Fidakia, Evritania, Greece, a daughter of the late Serafim Leris and Aikaterini Kangios Leris. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Pistiolis is survived by two sons, Serafim M. ?Mike? Pistiolis and his wife Maria and Gerasimos ?Jerry? Pistiolis and his wife Toula of Charlotte; 3 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Father Michael Varvarelis and Father Efstathios Varvarelis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The trisagion will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Cathedral. Pallbearers will be George S. Pistiolis, George J. Pistiolis, Chris B. Pistiolis, Gus A. Pappas, John J. Pappas, Nick S. Pappas and George E. Leris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Panagia Pnousiotissa Chapel, 121 Greenwich Road, Suite 212, Charlotte, NC 28211.
