Obituary of Wilson Caudle

Wilson Roddye Caudle Mr. Caudle, age 93, died November 9, 2009 at Sharon Towers in Charlotte, NC, where he was a resident. He was born in Charlotte, NC on December 8, 1915 to the late L.L. Caudle, Sr. and Ina Roddye Caudle. Mr. Caudle was a 1934 graduate of Central High School and attended UNC Chapel Hill. He was a Vice President and Sales Manager of Nebel Knitting Company and later associated with Chadbourn Hosiery Co. and Highland Mills. Mr. Caudle retired in 1981 after 35 years in the ladies hosiery industry. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of several Army bands including a tour of duty at Morris Field. Mr. Caudle was fifty year member of the Dilworth-South End Rotary Club, the Navajo Club and an Elder at Avondale Presbyterian Church. Mr. Caudle was preceded in death by his wife Sara Ligon Caudle in 2007. He is survived by two sons, Richard L. Caudle of China Grove, NC and David R. Caudle of Charlotte; a sister, Carolyn West Boland of Columbus, GA; sister-in-law, Polly Ligon Hollingsworth of Charlotte; niece, Carolyn C. Ferguson, and many other nieces and nephews. A private burial will be held at Sharon Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Avondale Presbyterian with the Reverend Dr. John Earl officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service. Mr. Caudle was truly a wonderful, loving and kind man who was a selfless Christian and always put his church and family first in his life. He never hesitated to help them, never asked for recognition, and always just asked them to remember to ?pass it on?.
