Obituary of Frances Gottheim

Frances Stein Gottheim Frances Stein Gottheim of Charlotte, NC formerly of Harrisburg, PA and Cherry Hill, NJ died peacefully on December 3, 2009. Mrs. Gottheim was born on December 26, 1922 in Lebanon, PA to the late Israel and Sarah Stein. She was the youngest of two sisters and one brother. Frances was very involved as a volunteer at Chisuk Emuna Congregation of Harrisburg, PA, and served for many years as the editor, copywriter and designer of their newsletter. Fran?s most recent accomplishment was the education and ceremony of her becoming a Bat Mitzvah at the age of 86, with her Sunrise girlfriends this past summer. Frances is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years Donald Frank Gottheim; her two sons Alan Gottheim and his wife Merle, of Charlotte, NC; Leon Gottheim and his wife Jaci of Cherry Hill, NJ; her daughter Judi Kammerer and her husband Jack of Harrisonburg, VA; and her sister Yetta Rosenberg of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Mike and Melissa Gottheim Wildt of St. Louis, MO; Dana Gottheim of Cambridge, MA; Rachel Kammerer of Washington, DC; Adam Gottheim of Cherry Hill, NJ; and Sarah Gottheim of New York, NY. Graveside services will be held on 10:30 AM, Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Hebrew Cemetery of Charlotte, 1801 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28206 Shiva will be observed at the home of Alan and Merle Gottheim on Sunday and Monday evenings. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Sunrise on Providence Road for the remarkable and loving care they provided to Frances. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish Family Services, or The Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
