Obituary of Jean Arnold

Jean Peeler Arnold Mrs. Arnold, 84, of Charlotte, NC died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Asbury Care Center. She was born on May 10, 1925 in Salisbury, NC, daughter of the late Dr. Banks Joseph Peeler and Agnes Goldie Andrew Peeler. She graduated from Catawba College class of 1946 and was a primary school teacher for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from 1963 until 1991. Jean married the Reverend Robert Baxter Arnold, Sr. on June 18, 1947. Jean was also preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Robert Peeler. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Robert Baxter Arnold, Jr. and his wife, Susan, David Andrew Arnold and his wife, Susan, and Michael Peeler Arnold and his wife, Elizabeth; brother, Dr. Richard Peeler; grandchildren, Kimberly Arnold Partee and her husband, Jonathan, Larkin Amanda Arnold, Corey Andrew Arnold and Colin Padgett Arnold; and great-grandson, Tyler Christopher Partee. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andrew Brown, Rev. Elizabeth Armstrong and Rev. Jamie Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Shiloh United Church of Christ Cemetery in Faith, NC. The family will receive friends in the Parlor of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
