Obituary of Geraldine Pittman

Geraldine Frazier Pittman Mrs. Pittman, 83, of Charlotte, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Myrtle Beach. ?Jerry? as she was known by friends and family was born September 18, 1926 in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Raymond Curtis Frazier and Myrtle Kennedy Frazier. She graduated from Harding High School and while at Harding she met her future husband, Arthur Thomas Pittman, Jr., who passed away in 1976. Jerry is survived by two sons, Tom Pittman and his wife Jo of Raleigh, NC and Kim Pittman of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Pamela Johnson of Atlanta; two grand stepsons, Brandon Ewing of Raleigh, NC and Shan Ewing and his wife Robin; two great grand stepdaughters, Taylor and Chloe of Portland, OR. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00p.m. Saturday at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC. A service to celebrate Jerry?s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, Rev. Tim Taylor, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Purcell United Methodist Church, 2141 Weyland Ave, Charlotte, NC 28208.
