Obituary of Nettie Beaty

Nettie Hamby Beaty Nettie Hamby Beaty went on to be with her Savior December 27, 2009. She was born May 22, 1930 in Belmont, NC the daughter of Fred and Ruth Goins Hamby. She is preceded in death by her parents and by husband Warren Odell Beaty in 1964. Beloved daughter Linda Joan Beaty passed away in 1975. Mrs. Beaty moved to Charlotte in 1949 where she lived until the time of her death. Mrs. Beaty devoted much of her life to serving the elderly as a nurse?s assistant. Nettie really loved her Atlanta Braves and was Dale Earnhardt?s biggest fan. What she enjoyed most were her trips to Ocean Lakes to spend time with family and friends in the Myrtle Beach area. Survivors include her sister JoAnn Norwood of Belmont; sons John Dellinger and Ronald Beaty of Charlotte; daughters Peggy Cooper of Huntersville and Patricia Beaty Hollern and husband Jim of Charlotte. A cousin, Ted Upton lives in Lenoir, NC. Her grandchildren are Greg and Wendy Cooper of Mt. Holly; Leslie Cooper, Michael Beaty and Eric Dellinger of Charlotte. The great-grandchildren include Tyler Singleton of Mt. Holly; Jordan Alexis and Cooper Drake of Huntersville and Marisa Beaty and Landon Starnes of Charlotte. Her nieces and nephew are Karen Haire of Monroe, Todd Haire of Charlotte, Krista Yount and husband Stephen of Matthews and Gail McQueen of Lowell. Her family loved Mrs. Beaty very much and she loved them in return. The family would like to thank the staff of Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville whose passion and care gave Mrs. Beaty a dignity she so richly deserved in her transition from this life to Heaven?s Glory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh St, Charlotte NC 28204 in the name of Nettie Hamby Beaty A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
