Obituary of Rebecca Morris

Rebecca W. Morris. ?Becky? Mrs. Morris, 69, of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2010. She was born December 31, 1940, in Gastonia, NC, a daughter of the late Seth and Mildred Compton Wooten. Becky graduated from Central High School class of 1959 and was also a graduate of Kings Business College. Mrs. Morris was employed with the NC Employment Security Commission for over 25 years until her retirement in 2003. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, especially a trip she took to the Holy Land with her family. A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. ?Buck? Morris. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Walker of Charlotte, NC; son, Danny Morris of Belmont, NC; granddaughter, Allison Nuzzolese and her husband, SPC John Nuzzolese; brother, Ken Wooten and wife, Sally of Concord, NC; sister, Nancy Carter and husband Jack of Huntersville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church 301 S. Davidson St., P.O. Box 31046, Charlotte, NC 28231.
