Obituary of Evelyn Moore

EVELYN JORDAN LINDSAY MOORE Mrs. Moore, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Olde Knox Commons Nursing Home in Huntersville. She was born on May 10, 1924 in Mount Crogan, SC,daughter of the late, John T. Jordan and Coney (Connie) Hancock Jordan. Mrs. Moore was a resident at Summit Place at South Park (formally The Place at SouthPark) in Charlotte, NC for a year. She then went to Olde Knox Commons, Huntersville, NC in 2009. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire Staff as they are a very caring and loving group of people who have supported the family more than we can say over the last year. Mrs. Moore was a member of Fair Bluff Bible Chapel, Charlotte, NC for over 25 years. The family would also like to say thank you to all of the members of Fair Bluff as they were very faithful since her husband passed away in 1995. Due to their love, support and prayers our family?s journey was made easier. Mrs. Moore was active with the Ladies Missionary group after her retirement. She was a Customer Service Representative for Belk Store Services for 17 years and retired in 1990. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Harry Roland Lindsay and John J. Moore; 4 brothers, Clyde, Ross, Julius and John (Bunk) Jordan; and 2 sisters, Ida Kirkley and Mary (Sis) Lear. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Lindsay Wood and husband, Paul N. Wood of Huntersville, NC; two grandchildren, David L. Smith and wife, Misti, of Mt. Holly, NC and Dawn Wood Morton and husband, Lloyd of Monroe, NC; four great grandchildren, Brianna and Mikayla Smith and Michael and Stephen Morton; and nieces and nephews of which 9 are deceased. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 with Mr. Bill Longstreet of Fair Bluff Bible Chapel, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
