Virginia L. Wiseman ?Ginnie? Virginia Lee McCarty Wiseman, 61 of Concord, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Cabarrus County Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. Ginnie was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania on Feb 18, 1948, to the late Ernest Lester McCarty Sr. and Hilda Alberta Denmon McCarty, of Harvey?s Lake, Pennsylvania. Ginnie was raised in Harrison and Pequannock, New Jersey. She was a member of the first graduating class of the New Harrison High School in 1966. She furthered her education, graduating from the Berkeley College of Professional Studies. Her career began at the Herald News in Passaic, N.J. She later joined Colonial Printing, in East Rutherford, N.J. where she worked for 25 years. While there she was the first female to earn a senior management position. While working at Colonial Printing, Ginnie met her husband Bill Wiseman. They fell in love and moved to Ijamsville, Maryland. Four years later they chose to establish their new company, Pro-Tek Systems, in Concord, N.C. In addition to her work at Pro-Tek Systems, Ginnie loved to watch hummingbirds and had many bird feeders at her Concord home. She also enjoyed genealogy, gardening and interior design. With the help of her aunt Shirley Denmon Zimmerman, she traced multiple family ancestries. The most famous was Edward Doty, passenger/apprentice on the Mayflower. Ginnie?s genealogical research can be found on the ancestry.com web site, where it can be viewed, added to and enjoyed by all. Ginnie Wiseman was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lester Sr. and Hilda Alberta McCarty. She is survived by her husband, Bill Wiseman and brother, Ernie McCarty Jr. his wife Jackie, and niece Candace McCarty, all of Portland, Oregon, aunts Beverly Dennis of Sellersburg, Indiana, Shirley Zimmerman and her husband, Don of Beaumont, Pennsylvania, uncle Victor and his wife Marge McCarty of Shavertown, Pennsylvania, and sister-in-law, Kathryn (Wiseman) Mulinazzi and husband, Tom of Lawrence, Kansas. Ginnie was a loving, devoted wife, sister and aunt. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, generous heart, her winning smile, a great sense of humor, for her attention to detail and as a loyal caring friend. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 with the Reverend Dr. John Earl, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
