Obituary of Walter Foreman

Walter Thomas Foreman, Jr. Mr. W. T. ?Bud? Foreman of Charlotte, NC passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC surrounded by his family. Bud was born June 29, 1924 in Asheville, NC. As a teenager he was awarded the Eagle Scout status. Part of our greatest generation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air force during WWII and flew over 30 missions as a bombardier. After the war Bud received a mechanical engineering degree from N.C. State University. He was a member of Everett Case?s basketball team and the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. An avid tennis player, Bud was a charter member of Olde Providence Tennis Club. He was a patron badge holder at the Masters and a member of Myers Park Baptist Church. Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, daughters Lynn (Ken), Fran, Lea (Jack) and Susan (Michael), six grandchildren Elizabeth, Quentin, Emerson, Alec, Allison and Dylan, two great grandchildren Maya and Mani, his sister Darian , brother Dave and his constant companion, ?Paisley?. A service to celebrate Bud?s life will be held in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 at 5:00 PM Sunday March 28, 2010. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the third floor ICU nurses at Presbyterian Hospital, 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204, who so lovingly cared for our father during his short illness.
