Although I talked with Mr. Goudes many times by phone, I only met him one time. He was a super nice guy, with a great personality. Never at a loss of words. He made me welcome at a function when I was afraid I would be welcome. Quite the gracious gentleman. I'm sorry I did not know if his pasting until now. I have a space in my heart with his name on it. Rest in Peace my friend.

Dear Goudes Family,
The entire Robert and Michael Talbert family is saddened to hear about the loss of your father and a friend of my family for fifty three years. Nick will be sorely missed by the community for what he has done for all of us.
Who could forget all the years and the great times we had at Sharon View Country Club. When we see the old members the first thing we talk about is your Dad, the wonderful parties and the meals ... we still miss the fried chicken.
God Bless you all and we will keep you in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Michael and Sandra Talbert

We remember meeting "Uncle Nick" in 1979. We had just moved to Charlotte and were looking for a tennis/swim club to join. Since we were of mixed religions (Jewish/ Catholic)we thought there might be a problem ,as with most country clubs. Uncle Nick told us that everyone was welcome. That began a long , wonderful friendship filled with great times, great buffet's, great tennis, dances and fun Easter Egg hunts! He was a special man and will be remembered with fondness by our family.

How well I remember Nick and Alma making Charlie, myself and our children so comfortable at the Sharon View Club. I have so many wonderful memories from swimming lessons given to children who did not want to go in the water to wonderful Saturday night events prepared by Nick and Alma, all due to the Goudes Family...
