Obituary of C.W. Simpson

Clarence William Simpson, Jr. ?C.W.? Mr. Simpson, 67, of Charlotte died at his residence on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. A Charlotte native Mr. Simpson was born December 5, 1942, son of the late Clarence William Simpson, Sr. ?Speck? and Lucy Hall Simpson. C.W. graduated from Myers Park High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years. Following an extended career in the credit industry, Mr. Simpson started CW?s Lawn Maintenance. He was an active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Martha Steele Simpson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all of their family and friends as well as Dr. Amir Farahany, Dr. James Boyd, Dr. David Reardon, The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, Presbyterian Hospital, Mecklenburg Healthcare, Britthaven, Brian Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region. A very special thank you to Judy Hovis, who was his helper and caregiver. Funeral service for Mr. Simpson will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 16, 2010, at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home Thursday evening April 15, 2010, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
