Obituary of Kathryn Fairbanks

Kathryn Williams Fairbanks Mrs. Fairbanks, 70, of Charlotte died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. A Charlotte native, Kathryn was born April 27, 1939, daughter of the late John Bonner and Virginia Laney Williams. She was raised in the Presbyterian faith at Covenant Presbyterian Church and graduated from Central High School and Carolina Business College. Kathryn was employed with American Cyanamid Company for 21 years as an administrative assistant and later as a buyer. After leaving American Cyanamid, she was the office manager for Sharon Memorial Park for 7 years. Following her retirement Kathryn was employed part time with Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service until her illness forced her to stop working. Surviving are her cousins, Mary K. Neal and husband, Bobby of Monroe, NC and George Hobieka of Florence, S.C. and best friends Don and Carolyn Kirby of Greensboro, NC. Graveside service for Mrs. Fairbanks will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in Sharon Memorial Park.
