Obituary of Angie Stathakis

Angie Dracos Stathakis Mrs. Stathakis, 77, of Charlotte died at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC on Friday, April 23, 2010. She was born May 30, 1932 in Richmond, VA, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Bacas Dracos Angie was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Stathakis was employed with Blackhawk Hardware for many years. She cared about the environment and always recycled and encouraged other to do so. Angie also enjoyed walking and you never saw her without a smile. She will be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Stathakis and sister, Cassie Dracos. Surviving are her son, John Stathakis and wife, Linda; daughter, Paula Canupp and husband, Patrick all of Charlotte, NC; brother, John Dracos of Tidewater, VA; grandchildren Andrew, Chandler, Evan and Caroline Stathakis; nephews, John, Paul and James Dracos; nieces, Debbie Stathakis and Lisa Copsis and her extended family at Blackhawk Hardware. The Trisagion will be held Sunday evening April 25, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 at 10:30 PM at the Cathedral. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
