Obituary of Pauline Miller

Pauline Miller ?Polly? Mrs. Miller, 80, of Charlotte, NC, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born on November 26, 1929, in Charlotte, NC, daughter of the late George and Ruth Hawkins. Mrs. Miller graduated from Harding High School in 1948. On January 19, 1952, she married Jesse Miller. Mrs. Miller retired from the Charlotte City Traffic Engineering Department in 1988 after 30 years of service. During that time she became the first secretary to the board for Charlotte City Employees Credit Union now known as Charlotte-Metro Credit Union. She also was the first treasurer of that board. She was also a member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Governmental Retirees Association. In addition to her parents Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse. She is survived by her cousins, Rick Ayers and his wife, Martha, Stephanie Lee and Daughter, Lily Lee, Shane Ayers, Frank Hawkins and his wife, Grace, Candy Pickert and her husband, Merle, and Pat Sizemore and her husband, Jim. The family would like to thank Mrs. Miller?s caregivers for their love, Kim Nyborg and Heidi Haggerty. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, April 26, 2010 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203.
