Obituary of Scotty Byrd

Scotty Wayne Byrd Scotty Byrd, 40, of Harrisburg, NC was born December 21, 1969 in Charlotte North Carolina at Presbyterian Hospital. His was Vice President of Operations with The Byrd's Group where he was employed for the past ten years. Scotty graduated from Triton High School in Erwin, NC in 1989. He participated in football and wrestling winning many awards in both. Scotty was honorably discharged in 1994 from the US Army where he served four years active duty and two years with the National Guard during which time he was stationed in Germany and Fort Hood Texas. Scotty met and married his wife of thirteen years, Pamela in Austin, TX. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Samantha Grace Byrd; son, James Scotty Byrd; parents Bobby and Phyllis Byrd of Charlotte, NC and Mike and Fran McPherson of Dunn, NC; grandmother, Margaret West; brothers, Bobby Lynn Byrd and Wes Branham; sister, Kim Butler; stepsisters, Stacy Skelton and Lynette Long of Alabama; nieces, Whitney and Taylor Byrd, and Devan Dudek; nephews, Michael Byrd, CJ Phipps, TJ Dudek, Nathan and Austin Butler and Colton Branham. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28262. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203.
