Obituary of Katherine Anastes

Katherine Floros Anastes Mrs. Anastes, 96, of Greenville, SC and formerly of Charlotte, NC, died peacefully Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Greenville, SC. She was born August 27, 1913in Micro-Horio, Evrytania, Greece a daughter of the late Gus and Maria Floros. Katherine came to America in 1920 with her family. She was very active within the Greek community of Charlotte, along with Voter Registration and the Democratic Party. Surviving are her son, Lewis R. Anastes and wife, Connie of Greenville, SC; daughter-in-law, Sandra K. Anastes of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Kathy and Kelly Anastes, both of Columbia, SC., Rob Anastes and wife, Jessica of Raleigh, NC and Nicole Galeski and husband Tom of Charlotte, NC; great-grand¬son, Eli Anastes of Raleigh, NC. Also, surviving are her sisters, Helen Fleggas and Sula Morrow of Charlotte, NC; brother, James Floros and wife Maureen of Beaufort, SC and sister-in-law, Florence Floros of Arden, NC. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Anastes, beloved son, Gus R. Anastes and brothers, Spiro Floros and Nick Floros. The Trisagion and Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 17, 2010, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cathedral one hour prior to the service.
