Obituary of William Hall

William Irving Hall ?Bill? Mr. Hall, 89, of Charlotte died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born November 3, 1920, in Juniata, PA, son of the late William and Helen Hall. Bill was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WW II and was a production manager with Maryland Baking Company until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Church. Mr. Hall loved radio controlled airplanes and was a member of the York County Flyers. He enjoyed playing cards and was also the consummate handyman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by brother, John and sisters, Harriet and Louise. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Helen Grindal Hall; sons, Steven Hall and wife, Beverly of Clayton, NC, John Hall and wife, Judith and Kenneth Hall and wife, Brenda all of Charlotte, NC; sister, Jeanette Jones of Pittsburgh, PA and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 23, 2010, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Timothy S. Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. There will be a Rosary service Sunday afternoon August 22, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service with the family receiving friends following the Rosary service until 5:00 PM.
