Obituary of Dan Rice

Dan F. Rice Mr. Rice, 85 of Charlotte, NC returned to his Lord on August 27, 2010. He was born on October 14, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late J.S. and Eleanor Spellacy Rice. Mr. Rice loved his family, laughter and flying. He attended and graduated from Fishburne Military Academy, Belmont Abbey College and The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He served in the Armed Forces in World War II and the 156 National Guard Unit during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife of sixty two years Anna Vee Bolton Rice; daughters, Kim Andry and Jan Marinier and her husband, Regis; his wonderful grandchildren, Anna Vee Andry, James Marinier and Alexandre Marinier; his sister, Betty Lawrence and her son Chip and his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 30, 2010 in the chapel of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211, with Father Frank O?Rourke, celebrant. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the narthex of the church for one hour prior to the mass. The family would like to thank the staff of Avante of Charlotte for the wonderful care they gave Mr. Rice.
