Obituary of Ruth Yandle

Ruth Todd Yandle Mrs. Yandle, 93, of Paw Creek, NC, died on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Lake Park Nursing and Rehab in Indian Trail, NC. Mrs. Yandle was born March 24, 1917 in Paw Creek, NC, daughter of the late John Harvey and Emma Baker Todd. She was a long time member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church and enjoyed talking about the church and the community of Paw Creek. Ruth graduated from Paw Creek High School and attended East Carolina Teacher?s College where she played basketball back in the day when girls played half court games. Mrs. Yandle was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was married to her late husband, Cecil, for 68 years who preceded her in death in 2007. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Yandle was preceded in death by her son, John in 1995 Mrs. Yandle is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn R. Yandle of Matthews, NC and granddaughter, Ashley Yandle of Raleigh, NC. Funeral service for Mrs. Yandle will be held at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, 7400 Mt. Holly Road, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Gary L. Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
