Obituary of Annie Lowery

Annie Clarissa Barkley Lowery Mrs. Lowery, 81, of Charlotte, NC died October 5, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Huntersville, NC on December 17, 1928, daughter of the late Albert and Nona Barkley. Mrs. Lowery deeply loved her family. She also loved to garden and cook. No one ever left her house hungry. Mrs. Lowery was a member of the Ladies Circle Group at Amity Presbyterian Church, where she and her husband were members for over 50 years. In addition to her husband of sixty two years, Henry, Mrs. Lowery is survived by her daughters, Pat Irvin and her husband, Jock of Huntersville, NC, Nancy Childress and Buster of Rockwell, NC, Joy Stonebraker and her husband, Bob of Charlotte, and Connie Kiser of Charlotte; brother, Joe Barkley and his wife, Gloria of Charlotte; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 8, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 with Pastor Betsy Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the funeral home.
