Obituary of James Lee

James Alton Lee ?Big Jim? Mr. Lee, 64, of Charlotte died peacefully at his residence on Monday, November 8, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born in Santa Rosa County, FL October 3, 1946, son of the late Rufus and Ida Eldridge Lee. Jim was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and loved his job as a crane operator. He also enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with friends of Bill W. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Marty. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Teri H. Lee and step son, A. Brian Dunlap both of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Carolyn Odom and husband, Cecil of Charlotte, NC and Debbie Whisant and husband, Cy of Wildwood, FL; nephews, Davy and Chris Whisant and niece, Lauren Odom. Also surviving Jim is his beloved dog, Casey. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service with Father Conrad Hoover officiating. The family requests that dress for the service be casual. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 E.
