Obituary of Harold Brooks

Harold L. Brooks Mr. Brooks, 64, of Matthews, NC died on November, 8, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital-Matthews. He was born on August 23, 1946 in Andersonville, TN, son of the late Ralph Brooks and Katie Brooks-Stanton. Mr. Brooks served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 until 1968. He then went to work for Gates Rubber Company where retired from after twenty six years of service. Mr. Brooks was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Monroe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Tom Stanton; and his brothers, Donnie and Gil Brooks. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Joy Brooks; daughters, Dayna Austin and her husband, John and Melissa Croly and her husband, Todd; grandchildren, Carter Austin, Hailey Austin and Trace Croly; his sister, Karen Eslinger and her husband, Ron; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews, NC. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM.
