Obituary of James Goldston

James F. Goldston Mr. Goldston, 87, of Charlotte died on November 18, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Concord, NC on December 25, 1922, son of the late Marshall Austin and Lilly Anne Morrison Goldston. Mr. Goldston retired from Sears after 27 years as Manager of the downtown coffee shop. He loved his family and his home and enjoyed working around the yard. He was a true gentleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Mr. Goldston is survived by his wife of 67 years Jo Goldston; his daughter, Linda Kirkman and her husband, Tommy; Grandchildren, Kim Childs and her husband, Brad and Brandon Kirkman and his wife, Helene; great-granddaughters, Alex and Mikayla; and a sister-in-law, Aileen Goldston. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Presbyterian Hospital and Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service with military honors will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday for thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O.
