Obituary of Troy Hartley

Troy William Hartley Mr. Hartley, 82, of Charlotte, NC, died on November 20, 2010 at Sardis Oaks. He was born on June 13, 1928 in St. Augustine, FL, son of the late Elwood and Adelaide Ginty Hartley. Mr. Hartley retired from Southern Bell after 35 years of service. He was dearly loved by his daughters, who appreciate all of the wonderful times that they shared with him. Mr. Hartley was so proud of his grandchildren and was thrilled to get to know his great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Evans Hartley. Mr. Hartley is survived by his daughters, Leslie Hartley Jones and Lynne Hartley Allison and her husband, Donnie; grandchildren, Hilary Jones Smith and her husband, Rob, Tim Jones and his wife, Andie, Troy Allison and his wife, Amanda, and Tyler Allison; and great-grandchildren, Hartley Smith, Betty Lou Smith, and Lila Jones; and his sister, Evon Hartley Hall. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 with Reverend Brian Taule, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening November 23, 2010 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
