Obituary of Wilma Saly

Wilma Woolf Saly Wilma Woolf Saly, 95, of Charlotte, NC died on December 3, 2010 in the Stewart Health Center at the Cypress Club of Charlotte. Wilma was born March 7, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mark Woolf and Irma Meyer Woolf. Mrs. Saly attended the University of Chicago. Throughout her lifetime Wilma was extremely active in her community. Her favorite local charities included Second Harvest Food Bank of Charlotte and The Charlotte Humane Society, where she served on the Board of Directors along with the late Patti Lewis. She was active with the Humane Society up until a few years ago. Mrs. Saly was a member of Temple Beth El for many years. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Jill S. John and husband, Robert, of Indian Land, SC; son, Richard M. Saly and wife, Gari, of Thousand Oaks, CA; four grandchildren, Julie (Sal) Jackson, Laurel Short, Ross (Debbie) Saly, and Matt (Dana) Saly and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Saly was preceded in death by her husband, Julian R. Saly Graveside service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, December 9, 2010 in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC.
