Obituary of Steven Gainsboro

STEVEN M. GAINSBORO Steven Mark Gainsboro, 56, of Charlotte, NC died on December 11, 2010 after a valiant battle with a brain tumor. He was born in Boston, MA to the late Dexter Gainsboro and Jane Leibovitz Grier. Mr. Gainsboro began his work career after college by operating and co-owning his family?s retail clothing store, ?Ava Botelle? in Newton, MA. He continued his career in sales in various Charlotte locations, but was most proud of his recent position as Food Solicitor, for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Steven was an active member of Temple Beth El since 1995. He was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting antiques and collectables. He loved music, had a great sense of humor, and was extremely devoted to his family. Mr. Gainsboro is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Holly Jane Gainsboro; son, Derek Jacob Gainsboro; daughter, Liana Jade Gainsboro all of Charlotte, NC; sister Amy Gainsboro Cooper and husband, Mark and their three children; Danny, Ali and Hayley of Sudbury, MA. His funeral service will be on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 12:30 PM in the Sanctuary of Temple Israel, Shalom Park, Charlotte, with interment following at the Hebrew Cemetery, Statesville Road, Charlotte. Shiva will be observed at the Gainsboro home Monday through Wednesday from 6:30PM to 8:30PM.
