Obituary of Peggy Lewis

Peggy Elizabeth Archer Lewis Mrs. Lewis, 76, of Charlotte, died December 22, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 21, 1934 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Ethel and Frank Archer. Mrs. Lewis had many hobbies including painting old world santas, reading and taking pictures. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Reggie Lewis; her brother, Jimmy Clary; sister-in-law, Betty Hipp; and her step-father D.O. Clary. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Lewis of Huntersville, NC; and cousins, Sonny Ragan of Charlotte, NC and J.W. Ragan and his wife, Dorothy, of Kannapolis, NC. Although Mrs. Lewis didn?t have children of her own, she had a large extended family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. Special love and thanks to Stan and Susan for all their help and support. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
