Jimmie Sue was a graduate of Homer High School in Homer, LA and Ayers Business School in Shreveport, LA. She met the love of her life, a young Air Force serviceman from Maine, Frank Cole, at a USO dance. This unique union of a ?yankee? from Maine and a ?southern belle? from Louisiana lasted almost 55 years and created a very interesting life. Jimmie Sue was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was very active in the Village Improvement Society of Yarmouth and the Charity League of Charlotte. She enjoyed children and served as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader. She also devoted her time as volunteer at Room In the Inn. Jimmie Sue was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte and a member of The Tom Bowers Sunday School Class known as God Chasers. Music was a very big part of her life. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and was active in the church choirs wherever she was living. She was a member of the Portland Maine Symphony Chorus. Jimmie Sue also loved their mountain home in Waynesville, NC, spending time with family and friends and their travels around the world. While Jimmie Sue was a loving wife, a devoted, giving mother and grandmother, a caring sister and a dependable friend, she was above all a living testimony to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a steadfast prayer warrior who lived her life in service to others and served as a shining example of how to live your faith everyday. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
